Jerry's 1969 Telecaster.

The history of this guitar:

This guitar was born in 1969 as a standard, Fender Telecaster factory painted in midnight blue.  In 1972, Jerry bought this guitar from Don Dixon in Akron, Ohio, while home visiting for Christmas. Jerry had asked Don to find him a good guitar, and this one was selected. Upon returning to Bakersfield, Jerry had Gene Moles custom paint it. Gene aside from doing all the luthier work on the bands instruments, also painted the Red, White, and Blue scheme for Buck Owens Custom guitar, Don Rich's 1967 standard, and Doyle Singers Precision bass.  To the best of our knowledge, there are only **3 original guitars like this in the world.  Jerry traveled with this guitar until he left the band in 1975. The guitar was stored, and until just recently, hasn't been touched.  Since this was a played instrument during this time, Jerry had Seymour Duncan pick-ups added, and the neck was replaced with a 1971 after damaged while touring.
This guitar remains in it's original state.  It's now stored in a secure vault due to the tremendous value of the instrument.
